The world's second Ubuntu phone Meizu MX4: First impressions

The Meizu MX4 “Ubuntu Edition” will be released at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Compared to the quite low-end first Ubuntu Phone Aquaris, the Meizu MX4 “Ubuntu Edition” comes along with quite decent specifications such as a 5.36-inch 1080p display, a MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and a 20.7MP camera with dual LED.

Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese consumer electronics company based in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, China and one of the top ten smartphone manufacturers in China. Established in 2003, Meizu manufactures phones and music players. Meizu's business philosophy focuses on developing innovative and user-friendly smartphones for consumers. With more than 2,000 employees and 600 retail stores, the company has built a global presence.

We can’t say for sure if the MX4 Ubuntu Edition will feature any changes to the specification sheet, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it remains largely the same device with the exception of the OS. No details on pricing are available yet, though you can probably expect pricing similar to the Android variant, which is currently offered for around USD 350 at amazon.com.
